About this event
Trail Work Day at Rowlett Creek Preserve Trail in the RCP main parking lot (location is just east of the intersection of Centerville Rd and Castle Dr in Garland, TX).
Those items to bring are as follows:
- Protective clothes: long sleeve shirts, long pants, gloves, eye protection, boots, hat, sun screen, and bug repellent.
- Work equipment, if you have them: hand pruners, loppers, foldable saw.
Those projects that are being considered for this RCP TWD are the following:
- David McC plans on focusing primarily on loop 13 personally because all the little sock grabbing cookle-burrs that need cutting down now before they mature.
- There's lots of trimming needed in general and probably a tree or 2 to chainsaw. David has a nice new battery powered chainsaw that is surprisingly powerful that he'll bring.
- There is also yellow striping paint and rollers available to do the marking under the Centerville bridge from loop 1 to the levee at the loop 7 entrance and or under SH66 highway on loop5 that needs the stripes on the bridge abutment repainted.
- The open fields on Loops 3&4 need mowing, which Jack will be involved with.
Please fill out your waiver here.
