About this event
DORBA Judgment for Juniors begins Friday, May 24.
DORBA Juniors presents 2024 Judgment for Juniors — a summer challenge to visit as many DORBA and eligible DFW trails as possible.
Bronze - 8 trails
Silver - 12 trails
Gold - 20 trails
Platinum - 32 trails
Diamond - 50 trails
The purpose of this challenge is to get kids out of the house, on bikes and exploring different trails and terrain. It has been expanded to be 'all summer' to make the challenge available to more people. This will be a FREE challenge for any Juniors wishing to participate (though some trails have fees to access). It will run from Friday of Memorial Day weekend, May 24th to July 31st (trails must be ridden during this period). Juniors are free to select ANY trails from the approved list for their challenge. Parents will submit proof of each trail ride by posting a photo of their child at the trailhead to the DORBA Juniors page after each ride. You can also get credit for a trail by doing trail steward approved trail work at closed trails!
RULES
1. You MUST Register. Any Junior rider 14 years of age or less can participate
2. A picture is required at the trailhead with signage, however photos with undeniable specific trail identifiers may also be acceptable at the sole discretion of the DORBA Juniors director. (For example, a podium picture from the DFW series race at Erwin or a picture in front of the cave at Waterloo). The photo is the only proof needed for each ride. NO PHOTO, NO RIDE CREDIT. Group pictures are acceptable.
3. There's a list of eligible trails. Any of these can be chosen and counted toward the challenge.
4. We are NOT requiring a minimum mileage for any trail. Children vary in their ability. Parents are to evaluate that ability, then encourage the Juniors to ride as much as they can WHILE HAVING FUN at each trail.
5. Awards / Medals will be handed out at the DORBA Junior Day event (TBD, sometime near the end of summer). The rest will be mailed.
6. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Texas summers are hot.
7. Riders must wear helmets and may not ride closed trails.
8. The challenge, like Judgment Day, uses the honors system.
