Long time Corinth rider takes over as Trail Steward

Published on 7/3/2026

Welcome Bob Carson — New Trail Steward at Corinth Community Park

The DORBA Board has voted Bob Carson in as the new Trail Steward for the Corinth Community Park Trail. He steps into the role after years of hands-on work as an Assistant Trail Steward — a familiar face to anyone who's ridden CCP since DORBA got involved.

Bob has called Corinth home for 19 years. He's an Air Force veteran with more than 34 years in the transportation industry, currently working as a DOT Compliance Consultant helping clients across the country with safety and compliance matters. He and his wife have three adult children.
From Saturday ride to long-term passion

Bob was introduced to mountain biking by a neighbor around 2009. "What started as a Saturday afternoon ride quickly became a long-term passion." In the years since, riding has grown into more than a hobby — a way to stay active, meet good people, and give back to the local trail community.

Because he lives close to Corinth Community Park and rides the trail often, helping maintain it felt like a natural next step. He's served as an Assistant Trail Steward since DORBA became involved with CCP, supported the previous two Judgment Day events, and helped shepherd through ongoing improvements — the new pump track section, the first berms, and the new roller feature.

Favorites and vision

Ask Bob for his favorite sections and he'll point you to Pac Man Hill and the new pump track. "Corinth Community Park is a true local hidden gem," he says. "I believe it has even more potential as we continue to maintain and improve it responsibly."

As Trail Steward, his goals are simple: keep the trail safe, sustainable, and fun for everyone. He plans to continue organizing trail maintenance and build days throughout the year, and to bring more volunteers into the fold. "I've met great people through DORBA and the City of Corinth. I look forward to helping build on that momentum, supporting future improvements, and giving back to a trail and community that mean a lot to me."

Bob will be working alongside the CCP crew going forward. If you're near Denton County and haven't been to Corinth Community Park, you now have a Steward on the ground who'd be glad to see you there.
